Snowarama – Feb 11, 2018

Club Rides Tuesday and Sundays

Club Rides will start every Tuesday and Sunday 10:30 from the clubhouse.

Pack a lunch.

If temperature is colder then -15 C, the ride will be cancelled. If in doubt please contact:

Ron Tonts at 250 456 6042 for Tuesday rides.

Art Groves at 250 456 2112 for Sunday rides.

Trail Grooming Update

The Green Lake Snowmobile Club has made a decision to cease all trail grooming for the 2015-2016 sledding season. GLSC feels with current weather conditions and the long range forecast, it would be a waste of volunteer time and money to continue.
We would like to thank everyone who respected the groomed trails over this past season and we look forward to your support for the next sledding season.

Safe Quading!

Sunday & Wednesday Club Rides

Weather permitting riders are to be at the Clubhouse by 10:30 a.m.

Bring a lunch as the ride may not include a stop at a local eatery.

If temperature is colder than -12 C, the ride will be cancelled.

If in doubt phone Frank Dixon between 9:30a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for an update.

Memorial Ride/Open House

Green Lake Snowmobile Club Clubhouse

10:30 PM – 1:00 PM

Hot Dogs will be available to roast on the fire.

The ride will leave the clubhouse at 10:30am, returning at 1:00pm.

Those who do not wish to go on the ride (or non-riders) are encouraged to come to the (very) informal memorial ‘service’ at 1:00 pm at the bonfire behind the clubhouse.

There are always interesting and often funny stories told as we remember the departed members of the GLSC.

Hot Dogs will be available to cook over the open fire.

Come and enjoy lunch with the ‘gang’.

BCSF/GRST Ride in Pot Luck Dinner

BCSF/GRST Ride in Pot Luck Dinner

The Green Lake Snowmobile Club is holding a “Beef Dip” Dinner on Sunday, January 31st, 2016.  This dinner is to welcome the BC Snowmobile Federation riders who will be arriving in the 70 Mile House area after completing the first leg of an organized ride to commemorate 50 years of snowmobiling in BC.  This ride will take one week, leaving from Kamloops and riding through to Wells/Barkerville along the historic Gold Rush Trail.

We plan on hosting between 20-30 riders that evening.  The Club will provide a beef dip dinner, with Caesar salad.  We are asking all members to bring a “pot luck” appetizer or dessert to compliment the dinner.  Happy Hour 5:30 – 6:30 pm with dinner to follow.  BCSF plans on using this ride to highlight snowmobiling in British Columbia on a national level.  There is a film crew travelling with the riders to document the ride and areas and clubs along the way.  We ask that you support this event and help promote our Club and facilities.  Please contact either Cheryl Groves (art.cheryl.groves@gmail.com) or Susan McKie (smckie1@telus.net) to confirm your attendance, as we will need numbers to order the meat, buns, etc.

The itinerary will be as follows:

January 31st – GLSC members will ride out to meet and guide the riders back through our trails.  If you wish to join this ride, please meet at the Clubhouse at 10:00 am.  This ride will be approximately 3 hours in duration, so please come prepared.

Dinner and Social evening to follow.

February 1st 2016 – accompany riders to 70 Mile House and the Gold Rush Trail.  Follow the Gold Rush Trail on to 100 Mile House.  If you are interested in accompanying the riders along this leg of their trip, please contact Art Groves (art.cheryl.groves@gmail.com) or Peter McKie (peter_mckie@telus.net) to make arrangements.
