Eddys Pub

Is having a MEAT DRAW on Sunday the 24th, starting at 1:30 pm. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the club, so if you can make it, please support this event!

-----------------

Some of you are concerned about the ecologically sensitive grasslands that we have around the Lake, and wish to know who to contact about areas that may need repair.

The best way is through the reporting line which a person can do by phone or online (1 877-952-7277 toll-free (or #7277 on a cellphone)/ https://forms.gov.bc.ca/industry/report-a-natural-resource-violation/

The information is passed to the assigned triaging officer and an officer will be assigned if necessary. Thank you for being aware of how important it is to look after our natural resources!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you have a business, particular skill set or talent that you would like to make available to other members of the club?  We would love to know about it! We are trying to create a list of skills to enable us to use our own resources to help with club or members’ tasks. We would rather pay our own members for services instead of paying travel costs for someone to come from outside the 70 Mile House area. We feel this will help build stronger ties of community within the club, and add a greater sense of ownership to our wonderful region.  If you would like to be included in this directory, please reply to  grlksnowmobileclubinfo@gmail.com  with the following information:

Name:
Contact Info:
Type of Goods or Services:

For example, we are looking for someone with a backhoe to help smooth out some of the trail leaving from the club house cattle gates.

A special thank you to Gerry Goosen, who so generously donated his time, effort, materials, and skill to re-install our Clubhouse information sign. As you may know, the tree that the sign was hanging on finally became unstable. It was decided to put it on posts, so there should be no issues in the future.

THANKS GERRY!

Snowmobile Safety:

  • We often get calls from people who become stuck or lost out on the trails and beyond. Keep in mind that you need to go prepared, in case it happens to you. The snowmobile club will try to assist if possible, but please note that this is not a given. It will depend upon what, where, when, and who is available to go out. We are not trained or equipped for rescue operations. Sometimes your best bet may be to call Cariboo Search and Rescue 250-395-3210 or police. Here is a minimal checklist of how you can prepare:
  • Never ride alone!
  • Leave a route plan with someone at home, and stick to it.
  • Have a collapsible snow shovel with you in case you need to dig your sled out.
  • Take your fully charged cell phone with you, and extra power for it if you can.
  • Take snacks and water
  • Take a flashlight (Not your phone).
  • Have the ability to make a fire.
  • Have an emergency heat blanket in case you are stuck overnight.
  • Remember your GPS if you have one.
  • Put the Search and Rescue and other emergency phone numbers into your phone.

ONLINE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Most of you will be able to register online using the link above.  The only exception to that would be:

(a)  a child 17 and under who is registering on his/her own without an adult, which case you will need to contact me to work that out.

 (b) those who prefer to pay by cash or cheque; in which case please print off the paper membership form from the website or contact me for a form, then either drop off payment and the completed form to me or mail to the address at the bottom of the form.

You will see when you get to the registration page and have signed up and/or logged in there are two options, Club Rider Membership and Club Non-Rider Membership.  Click the one that applies to you.   From there you can register both yourself and your spouse (one after the other) and proceed to one payment.   If one of you is a rider and the other a non-rider, switch from Rider to Non-Rider or vice versa after one of you has been added to the “cart”, then add the second member.

For each new registrant, there will be a page that comes up to enter name, address, etc.  for each member.   It is important that you enter your correct birthdate in the info you’re asked for as that will tell the software what price to assign.

You will notice as you enter members that the cart will show (usually) 3 items for each member.  That’s how it has to be, so don’t be alarmed.  The final price will be correct.

When you get to the payment stage, the choices will be Credit Card or Bank Account.  My understanding is Bank Account will only work for eCheck, so please choose Credit Card.

If you are having any troubles at all getting registered, please email or call me at klowe@telus.net or 250-456-7506.
